Ryan & Juraska LLP was founded by Philip C. Ryan (“Phil”) and Alan R. Juraska (“Al”) in 1991. Prior to starting the firm, both Phil and Al had extensive experience in public accounting and in the securities and derivatives industry.
Phil served as the chief financial officer of Barnes & Co. He also worked as the financial partner of Hennessy & Associates, which was acquired by Barnes & Co. from 1981 to 1986. Additionally, from 1977 to 1981, Phil worked as a partner of Santoni & Santoni, CPAs. Before that, he worked as a senior auditor at the Chicago Board of Trade’s Office of Investigations and Audits from 1975 to 1977.
Before being part of Ryan & Juraska LLP, Al was the sole proprietor of his own firm, Alan R. Juraska CPA from 1985 to 1991. From 1979 to 1985, Al worked as the controller of Peters & Co. Before that, he functioned as the corporate controller of a publicly held manufacturing company from 1974 to 1979. He was likewise engaged in public accounting, working as an audit manager at Ernst & Whinney from 1969 to 1974.
While no longer handling the day-to-day operations, Phil and Al continue to serve both clients and the firm’s new leadership in an advisory capacity by offering their technical knowledge and decades of experience
